Online account in Rost Therapy
Why is it important that my profile and account information are complete?
The information you enter on your therapist profile (such as profile photo, practice data, etc.) will be visible in the Find a therapist database on our website, making you easy to find for patients who are looking for a pelvic girdle pain or coccydynia specialist in their area. We (and patients who find you) would also use your account information to contact you. Therefore, make sure you provide a valid e-mail address and telephone number and adjust them if changes occur.
How long will I appear on the Find a Therapist database?
If you have successfully completed an online course and obtained your diploma, you can be found in the database for up to 2 years as a registered/schooled therapist. If you attend a practical course or pass the online certification exam, you will be listed for 5 years as an official Rost Therapist™ or Coccydynia therapist, respectively. The graduate cap icon will appear in your profile and, if you graduated as a Rost Therapist™, you will also find a yellow ring around your picture.
The validity period of my listing will expire soon. What can I do to still be visible as a therapist on the Rost Therapy website?
When this period is about to end, you will receive an email from us with instructions on what you can do to remain visible in the searcher. You can extend your listing by getting certified as a Rost Therapist™; and if you are already a certified therapist, you can extend your listing for life by attending our PGP Level II: Advanced practitioner course [when available internationally]. In case you have completed the online Coccydynia course, you can extend your listing 5 years by joining our External Treatment for Coccydynia practical course to become a coccydynia therapist.
What is the difference between being listed as a schooled/registered therapist VS as a certified Rost Therapist™?
Patients can find anyone registered in the database, certified or just schooled. Certified Rost Therapists™ appear more prominent, with a graduate cap icon and a yellow ring over their picture to make it clear for patients that they have been certified as pelvic girdle pain specialists. Plus, certified listing has a 5-year validity.
If you complete both the online and practical coccydynia courses you will also be listed for 5 years and the graduate cap icon will appear next to your name to show that you have become a coccydynia therapist.
Do I get automatically listed after I complete a course?
Yes. After you complete your online course and obtain your Diploma of Completion, you will be automatically listed as a schooled/registered therapist in the Find a Therapist database for 2 years. This applies both to our PGP & coccydynia online courses. Please note that if you complete an online course through another course provider, the process of getting listed is not automatic. You can find more information on the procedure in other FAQs.
If you wish to become a certified Rost Therapist™ by following our practical course or passing the online certification exam, you will be listed automatically for 5 years after you have obtained your certification. In case you would like to become a coccydynia therapist after completing both the online and practical courses, you will also be listed for 5 years on the database.
Can I get listed if I complete the online course with other course providers?
If you complete the online courses Pelvic girdle Pain: the Rost Therapy™ approach or Coccydynia on other educational platforms (such as Bia Formations or Embodia), you can also get listed for 2 years on our database. However, the process will not be automatic. You will need to register on our website first and follow the procedure indicated by your course provider. You will find it in the FAQs about Courses as well.
The Diploma of Completion obtained from other course providers is equally valid if you want to pursue the Rost Therapy certification certification. This official certification would grant you a 5-year listing on our database.
The same system applies to coccydynia courses: for coccydynia, you can obtain a valid online course diploma through our website of via other providers. If you wish to extend the listing 5 years, you must join the corresponding in person course.
Courses
How long can I have access to the online course?
After purchasing an online course, you can view it for 2 years. The online course is continuously updated with the latest insights within the field.
I passed an online course. How long is this diploma valid to get into the Rost Therapy™ certification path or follow the External Treatment for Coccydynia course?
After following the online course Pelvic Girdle Pain: the Rost Therapy™ approach, you have 2 years to follow the corresponding practical course (or pass the online certification exam) and obtain and official Rost Therapy™ certification. The same applies to coccydynia courses: you have 2 years to complete the practical course after you have obtained your online course diploma and become a coccydynia therapist.
Are there differences between the online courses in Rosttherapy.com and other course providers?
There are no differences. Course content and Diploma of Completion are the same. You can get listed for 2 years in our Find a Therapist database as a registered/schooled therapist if you complete the course on the Rost Therapy website or through another course provider. The only difference is that if you complete the course via Rosttherapy.com you will get automatically listed, whereas if you complete it via a third party you will have to register your profile on Rosttherapy.com manually in order to get listed.
Language: through Bia Formations you can follow our online courses in French.
Are there differences between the in person practical courses via Rost Therapy and via other course providers?
No. Course content and the Rost Therapy™ official certification or coccydynia therapist certification you will receive after completion are the same.
Where can I find information on the PGP Level II Advanced Practitioner course?
The international PGP Level II course is now under development. We have successfully implemented it in the Netherlands for the past 3 years, but are still in the process of adapting it to an international public. The course will give you insight on advanced manual techniques and dry needling for acute and persistent pelvic girdle pain, and tools to specifically treat persistent PGP patients. More information to come within the next year! Make sure you sign up to our newsletter to not miss out.
How can I get listed on the Find a Therapist database if I completed an online course via another course provider?
If you have finished an online course through another course provider and you wish to get listed for 2 years as a schooled/registered therapist on our Find a Therapist database, this is the procedure:
- You will obtain a personal coupon from your course provider once you have obtained your Diploma of Completion.
- Register your profile at rosttherapy.com
- Use your coupon to gain free access in Rosthterapy.com to the same online course you have finished through another course provider.
- Complete the final exam of the course (similar to the one you have already completed through the other course provider).
- The Diploma of completion will then appear on your profile, and you will be listed for 2 years on the RT database as a schooled/registered therapist.
PGP Rost Therapy™ Certification
Why getting certified as an official Rost Therapist™?
Having an RT™ certification accredits you as a specialist in PGP, and a representative of everything our method stands for: an integrative, science based and compassionate approach to the treatment of pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain.
- You will be listed as an official Rost Therapist™ on our Find a therapist database for the next 5 years, where patients all over the world can find you.
- You will have access to our continuing education courses, including the in person course “PGP Level II: Advanced practitioner”. The advanced courses include effective manual techniques and dry needling for the treatment of acute and persistent PGP, and only experienced therapists would have the basic preparation and practice to make the most of course content.
What are the certification requirements?
You have to first obtain the Diploma of Completion after passing the online course Pelvic Girdle Pain: the Rost Therapy™ approach at Rosttherapy.com or at another course provider. Without this Diploma is not possible to try to get certified. Once you have obtained your diploma, you can join our in person practical course (PGP Level I: Rost Therapy™ certification) to get certified as an official Rost Therapist™ and get listed for 5 years on the Find a Therapist database. If you cannot attend the practical course, you now have the option to attempt to pass the online certification exam, a simpler online alternative to show that you have the skills to become a Rost Therapist™.
What is the difference between the in person practical course and the online certification exam?
Both the in person practical course (PGP Level I: Rost Therapy™ certification) and the Rost Therapy™ certification online exam will grant you the official Rost Therapy™ certification. So with regards to the certification, both options are equal.
Until 2021, attending the in person practical course was mandatory to obtain the certification, but the covid-19 pandemic has created the need for online alternatives. We need to assure that all our Rost Therapists™ would meet a certain standard, and if we cannot assess them through a practical course, the online exam is our next best alternative. Live, in person practical courses are still our preffered choice: we can exchange ideas, practice with our classmates, get direct feedback and perfect skills quickly and effectively. But we understand this is not a possibility for many.
What is the advantage of the in person practical course over the online certification exam?
Live, in person practical courses cannot be compared to the online certification exam. At the live, in person course (PGP Level I: Rost Therapy™ certification) we can exchange ideas, practice with our classmates, get direct feedback and perfect skills quickly and effectively. We can ask questions, get answers, discuss real cases, debate and learn plenty of clinical pearls, tips and tricks. The online certification exam is just a possibility for those who cannot attend the in person practical course. Even though both are valid to become an official Rost Therapist™, the in person practical course provides an added value that the online exam cannot. Through the online exam we are mostly making sure that you meet certain standards and that you can safely and effectively apply the Rost Therapy™ method. At the in person practical course we will certainly assess your skills, but you wil also return home with a bag full of clinical tools and experiences that only a live course can provide.
What if I don't pass the online certification exam?
The online certification exam is just an alternative for those of you who wish to get certified as Rost Therapists™ but cannot attend the in person practical course. The goal of the exam is to assess your practical skills and ensure that that you can apply Rost Therapy™ techniques in a safe and effective manner. Not passing this test implies that you cannot meet those standards yet. If you wish to retake the test, make sure that you practice enough before reattempting to pass it, and keep in mind the personal feedback you will receive from one of our teachers. You will have to purchase the exam again if you wish to retake it. There is no limit to how many retakes a person can attempt.
How can I extend my certification beyond 5 years?
By joining the PGP Level II: Advanced practitioner practical course, or one of the advanced modules. These advanced courses are only available in Dutch for the time being, we are working on an international version that will be launched wthin the next 2 years. Advanced courses include high level manual techniques, dry needling for pelvic girdle pain and specific management of persistent PGP cases. Make sure you join our newsletter to not miss out!
